COUNCIL LIAISON COMMENTS  
Council Member Dietz thanks Commissioners for their commitments. Reminder  
to attend Castle Rock Starlighting on November 22 downtown.  
YOUTH COMMISSION COORDINATOR COMMENTS  
Becca expressed her appreciation to the Commissioners for their attentiveness,  
responsiveness, and professional communication. She announced that she will be  
on maternity leave from December 10 through March 3. During her absence, Karla  
McCrimmon, Chynna Grant, and Kristin Reed will support the coordination of the  
Youth Commission. The next regular Youth Commission meeting is scheduled for  
Monday, December 8 at 6:30 p.m  
YOUTH COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS  
Chair George delivered a heartfelt Veteran’s Day message, expressing deep  
gratitude for the service and sacrifice of all veterans. He acknowledged the  
veterans in the room and recognized the young adults preparing to enter the  
military, commending their dedication and commitment to serving the nation.  
George also shared stories from his recent visit to West Point, reflecting on the  
inspiration he gained from the experience and his excitement for the opportunity to  
one day serve his country.  
Vice-Chair Abigail announced the upcoming Engineering Expo at Aspen Ridge,  
where students will have the opportunity to participate in hands on STEM  
challenges in areas such as robotics, circuitry and mechanical design. The event  
is designed to spark creativity, build problem solving skills and introduce students  
to real world engineering concepts. For more information, reach out to Abigail

Winter Legislative Kick-Off at the Capitol  
Becca will get Youth Commissioners registered for the Legislative Kick-Off.  
Service Project, Project Linus  
On Thursday, November 13, 42 teens from Castle Rock gathered at the Castle  
Rock Library from 5:15-7:15 p.m. to participate in a Project Linus service event,  
where they made 22 blankets for children in need. The total cost of the event was  
$1,106.14, slightly over the $1,000 budget; however, several expenses were for  
reusable items such as scissors, rulers, plates, and cutlery that can be used at  
future Youth Commission events.  
Participating teens represented Teen Court, Teen Advisory Group, Youth  
Commission, Colorado Early Colleges Student Government, Castle View Student  
Government, and Douglas County High School. Each teen earned two hours of  
volunteer time toward graduation and enjoyed coming together to support a  
meaningful cause.

Business casual attire was recommended and approved for Youth Commission  
meetings held in Council Chambers. Commissioners agreed that this is a  
prestigious opportunity and emphasized the importance of "dressing for the part."  
“I move to establish guidelines for appropriate dress when the Youth Commission is  
present in Council Chambers.”
