PWC 2025-024 Recommendation: Transportation Master Plan Update
The TMP is the guiding transportation document for the Town and is part of the
Town’s overall Comprehensive Master Plan. The goal of the update is to identify
transportation projects that will reduce congestion, improve mobility, and access
throughout the Town as growth continues as envisioned in the Town’s
Comprehensive Master Plan.
The following questions were asked by the Commission:
1. For all the new developments coming into the Town do they have to follow
what’s in the TMP?
a. Yes, new development proposals are required to follow what’s in
the TMP. For example, if an adjacent roadway is classified as an
arterial the developer will need to improve that street to the arterial
design standards. If the street is not identified for construction, then
the developer will have to dedicate right-of-way to accommodate
the future widening and may have to contribute toward the future
roadway widening project.
2. With the Front Range Passenger Rail and Mobility Hub will it change the
demands for the TMP?
a. If the passenger rail and mobility hub are located in Town, staff is
not projecting any changes to the TMP. There may be some
impacts to nearby intersections, which CDOT will be asked to
evaluate and identify possible mitigation measures to address
those impacts.
A motion made by Commissioner Fletcher and seconded by Commissioner Novak to
approve the Recommendation: Transportation Master Plan Update. Motion passes
5-0.
