PUBLIC COMMENT
Caryn Johnson, representing the Castle Rock Historical Society and Museum,
addressed the commission regarding a previously submitted Art and Culture Grant
application that was not awarded due to the program prioritizing shovel-ready
projects. She noted that her board requested she attend a commission meeting to
better understand and confirm the grant review process and to assess readiness
for future applications. Caryn expressed interest in potential partnerships, including
use of the CAFÉ platform. Staff shared the upcoming grant timeline and
clarification was provided regarding a possible partnership with PAC, including use
of CAFÉ to post the call, involvement of a subcommittee for drafting the call,
reviewing submissions, jurying artwork, and addressing long-term art maintenance

Friday of each month and that February's meeting would focus on this discussion.
