(First Reading) [Castle Rock Water Service Area]
Mark Marlowe, Director of Castle Rock Water, presented Ordinance 2026-018,
Resolution 2026-060 and Resolution 2026-061 together to be voted on separately.
Mayor Pro Tem Cavey inquired about the different stages of drought and clarified
the calculation is based on the daily supply divided by the daily demand. If it falls
below 1, they have a higher demand than supply.
Marlowe did clarify that they will not be shutting off splash pads in Stage 1 Drought.
Councilmember Davis inquired if this impacts golf courses. Marlowe stated they
have watering days as well, and they have specific impacts.
Dave Hammelman is a resident and is on the Water Commission. He is also a
member of the Board on his metro district. Both the Commission and the Board
recommend approval.
