TOWN COUNCIL AND STAFF COMMENTS
Councilmember Brooks stated that he admonishes the rhetoric from the Mayor of
Denver regarding the efforts to remove illegal immigrants. He clarified that he
does not speak for Castle Rock or Douglas County. He made a motion.
Councilmember Dietz stated that being an elected official is to be taken seriously.
We have 96 meetings and serve on boards and commissions, and that they can
only serve one master. He further stated public safety is paramount, he likes well
planned development, and feels Castle Rock is one of the best towns in Colorado
and feels blessed to serve with members of Council.
Councilmember Hollingshead feels it is unfortunate that we have to have a
declaration to follow the law in Douglas County. He wants to ensure our officers
are still able to serve our citizens.
Counclmember Bracken believes the idea is to protect the Town and help people
understand what we can and can't do. He likes the idea of a banner of support.
David Corliss, Town Manager, added that we may have the Pine Canyon item
and the City Hotel project at the December 17 meeting, and we will introduce
Council liaison positions to vote on at the January 7 meeting. He asked Council
to think about having a goal setting session. Council photos will occur on January
7.
Moved by Councilmember Brooks, seconded by Councilmember Dietz, to Direct the
