Discussion: Proposed Street Name Change - South Interstate 25 to South  
Wilcox Street  
Renaming South Interstate 25 (East Frontage Road) to South Wilcox Street. This  
renaming will establish name continuity from Plum Creek Parkway to Crystal  
Valley Parkway. Establishing a continuous South Wilcox corridor within the Town  
limits will significantly improve navigation for emergency responders, enforcement  
boundaries, delivery services, residents and future land development activity along  
the corridor.  
The following questions were asked by the Commission:

Have there been any negative responses from the property owners?  
a. The Town has received 3 comments from property owners all in favor of  
the change and no negative responses have been received.  
Have there been any issues with 911 with the name change?  
a. No issues with 911

What is the difference between right of way or annexation?  
a. This section of roadway is currently Town ROW, however, not owned by  
the Town. The annexation will transfer ownership from the County to the  
Town.

Where does the name change end? Why does it stop there? Why not  
further south?  
a. The changing of the street name to S. Wilcox will end at Crystal Valley  
Parkway. The Town has no interests to the South of this intersection as it  
remains Douglas County’s road.  
Why is it S. Wilcox vs Wilcox?  
a. There is currently North Wilcox St which is the roadway to the North  
beginning at South St and anything South of South St is currently named  
South Wilcox St. This is done for naming continuity.
