Planning Commission Study Sessions
Planning Commission will have 5 new members joining the commission this June, and 2 previous members remaining. While we routinely do training with new members, staff has determined that with this large of an incoming set of appointees, we are scheduling upcoming study sessions with the entire commission for their first two meetings in June. The currently scheduled training includes:
June 8, 2023:
• Overview of Land Development Process and Role of Planning Commission
• Quasi-Judicial Legal Training for Planning Commission
June 22, 2023
• Overview of Public Works reviews related to Land Development projects
• Overview of Stormwater reviews related to Land Development projects
• Overview of Water Resources related to Land Development project
While several of the new appointees are coming from other Town boards or commissions, we feel that an overview of the land development process and the Planning Commission’s role specifically would be a great way to kick off the new commission. We will also work to schedule study sessions and other items as questions come up during these first few sessions.
