Executive Summary
Staff is seeking Council direction on the 2023 Council Meeting Schedule. Attached is a listing of all regularly scheduled meetings for the year and proposed changes, with notes indicating holidays or special events for consideration.
The schedule proposes calling a Special Council Meeting on May 9, 2023, at 5:00 p.m., as is traditionally scheduled each year for the purpose of holding interviews with candidates for Town Boards and Commissions during annual recruitment. Also, the first meeting in July is on the 4th, which is a Town holiday, so that meeting would be cancelled. And the first Tuesday in August is National Night Out, an event recognizing law enforcement members and first responders in our community, so the August 1 Council Meeting is proposed to be cancelled to allow Council participation in that event.
Proposed Motion
“I move to approve the 2023 Council Meeting Schedule as outlined in the staff’s memo, to include the proposed changes:
- Call a Special Meeting on May 9, 2023, starting at 5:00 p.m. at Town Hall, for Boards and Commissions Interviews
- Cancel the regular meeting on July 4, 2023, to observe the Independence Day Holiday, and
- Cancel the regular meeting on August 1, 2023, for National Night Out.”
