Executive Summary
Members of Town leadership expressed interest in purchasing a watercolor painting called Castle Rock Fire Department by artist Cindy Welch. The painting features Castle Rock’s very own fire station in downtown Castle Rock, along with a vintage truck. The painting is 27 inches by 21 inches and would become part of the Town’s public art collection upon purchase. The purchase, however, would not be funded through the Public Art Fund. In August, the Commission approved the purchase and staff have since submitted a check request and are coordinating a time to meet with the artist to obtain the painting for installation at a location to be determined by Fire Chief Norris Croom.
