Executive Summary
Staff would like to update the Commission regarding the following items:
Board and Commission Recruitment
Interviews for Public Art Commission vacancies were held on Wednesday, May 11. Formal appointments will be approved by Town Council on Tuesday, May 19.
Artfest
The Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce has reached out to inquire if a member of the Commission could volunteer on the jurying panel for this year’s Artfest. The panel will review artist submissions and make recommendations on who to feature at the event. The meeting will be held on Thursday, May 19 at 4 p.m.
Town Hall Parking Garage Banner Design Call for Entries
Staff passed along feedback to the Town Manager’s office and the attached call will soon be posted to obtain submissions for designs, which will be reviewed and selected in August.
Art Encounters and Otocast
Contracts have been sent through for approval for Art Encounters and installations began. Eric Feinstein of Otocast also approved the $1,000 fee for continued use of the app for Art Encounters, plus 10 permanent installations (five new to be featured). Ego, installed at Festival Park, was also selected for the Judge’s Choice award for the 2021-2022 program; the artist will receive $1,000.
Maintenance and Conservation
Staff will provide as many updates as possible pertaining to the questions posed by members in April regarding options Tribal Jam’s maintenance and conservation.
