Executive Summary

 

Town Council unanimously approved the Proclamation to be presented to the Dads of Castle Rock on September 7, 2021.  The President of the Board and CEO, Robert Zearing, will be present to accept the Proclamation at the October 5, 2021 Town Council meeting.

 

Below is more detailed information on what the Dads of Castle Rock have contributed to our community and families they have helped:

 

May 2019 - before forming their non-profit a group of Dads in the Town of Castle Rock helped a family in need by holding the Knox Christmas Tree Pickup and Pancake Breakfast that raised over $18,000 and donated funds to the Castle Rock Police Foundation.

 

November 2019 - Dads of Castle Rock Community Outreach, Inc. officially became a non-profit organization and have a Board of Directors and an Executive Team.  They are a grassroots, philanthropic group of Dads with over 1,700 members and have raised over $300,000 to help those in our community and it keeps growing every month.

The Dads of Castle Rock is a community driven group of dads who strive to represent ourselves, our families, and our community in a respectable manner. Our mission is to help bring our community together by being positive influences through our actions and involvement in the community, supporting and fostering relationships with our local businesses, and have a measurable impact in our community by hosting community projects and fundraising events for families and local businesses who have fallen on difficult times.

DoCR is working towards a Dads of America 501c3 to pave the way for communities to launch chapters of their own communities and spread this movement across America.

DETAIL OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

 

DoCR has raised over $300,000 (and growing) to help individuals and families in our community, started various programs, and donated their time and skills to numerous projects:

 

Fundraising Events for Families:

                     Pancake Breakfast for Knox family for child born with nueroblastoma - $22,630

                     Cornhole Tournament for Facing Homelessness in Denver - $1,350

                     Bake Sale at Astro Tap for seven families - $3,000

                     Steve Evans Memorial fundraiser for daughter Elly - $30,000

                     Detective Dan Brite trailer - $25,000

                     Officer Luke Godfrey after house fire - $2,400

                     Officer Baldwin and his family after their house fire

                     12 families to shop at Wal-Mart last Christmas - $12,000

                     Replaced Pancake the Duck’s mom’s car - $550

                     Car for Paul Hill’s son who lost his battle with cancer - $3,000

                     Chowder Wars - Coast to Coast & Cajun Kings food trucks - Expectant mother with brain cancer

                     Megan Cheese Celebration of Life Cookout for a Cause Fundraiser with Burly Brewing

                     Raised over $40,000 for the family of Dustin Wakefield; and one of the members is donating his time to assist the family with financial planning

                     Currently collecting items for the Hurricane Ida Disaster Relief

                     Business take over events during the pandemic

                     Dad Clothing Closet supporting Help and Hope Center for those in need for clothing or work attire

                     Feature “Dad of the Week” on their Facebook page

Good Deeds

                     Blizzard help with snow removal, pulling out cars, and saving Izzy the horse

                     Built William’s World of Autism for kids and adults with autism

                     Furnished a home for a mom fleeing an abusive environment with her 5 children

                     Fixed a fence and did landscaping for a widow in the Meadows

                     Fixed up a damaged house by a squatter

                     Decorated the home of Cam Schultze for her birthday whose father died suddenly

                     Donated 6 computers to families

                     Adopted a stretch of Highway 86 between Terrain and Parker Road

                     Power washed and cleaned the Butterfield park playground following severe vandalism

                     DoCR Lemonade Stands for local kid entrepreneurs

Wives of the DoCR

                     Cook for various meal trains

                     Planned and coordinated the Kids Clothing Swap to raise funds for baby Declan fighting cancer

                     Plan date nights

                     Support fundraising events and logistics for the DoCR events
