Executive Summary
Per the Charter, the Boards and Commissions Manual, and the Election Commission Regulations; the Election Commission shall elect a Chair and Vice Chair by the majority vote of the Commission at the first meeting held each year. The first meeting occurs after Town Council appoints vacancies for terms starting on June 1. Terms for the Chair and Vice Chair will be one year.
In the absence of a Chair or Vice Chair, the senior member of the Commission will serve as Chair Pro Tem to call for nominations.
Nominations will first be accepted for Chair in the form of a motion for each nomination. The Vote will be called for each nomination until a Chair is elected.
The process will be repeated for the Vice Chair.
Proposed Motion
“I move to Elect ___ as Chair of the Election Commission.”
“I move to Elect ___ as Vice-Chair of the Election Commission.”
