Executive Summary
After reviewing the survey results from 2020, it was generally noted that public outreach, communication and engagement should continue to be a strong focus of the Commission in the future.
To this end, it was asked as to whether or not the Commission could establish an email list to keep interested residents informed on public art and art initiatives. The Staff Liaison explained that the Town can manage an email subscription list through a platform called Notify Me, which is a function of the CRgov.com website. It was confirmed that the Commission will be able to create a public art list through this platform for future email distribution. Staff plan to present a draft email in March for the Commission’s review.
Also at their March meeting, the Commission discussed the promotion of Otocast throughout the spring for Art Encounters. Outreach could include an email blast, social media posts, reaching out to local schools to encourage participation and organizing some type of hike or tour. The Commission decided to continue this discussion in March. Staff recommend that the Commission discuss the outreach it would like to prioritize for Otocast this spring and provide direction as appropriate.
