Discussion
The Town of Castle Rock offers two grant programs to non-profit entities within the community.
The Philip S. Miller Grant Program (PSMRGP), funded by the Philip S. Miller Trust Fund, has an annual budget of $40,000 and is awarded to organizations who provide necessities of life (water, energy, food or shelter assistance) to the community. This award has been fully disbursed in 2020, and in October 2020, Town Council approved awards for 2021.
The Council Community Grant Program (CCGP) is a quarterly grant focused on the quality of life for Castle Rock residents. CCGP has an annual budget of $8,000 funded by the Town Council Non-profit Grants account in the General Fund and has a balance of $4,500 remaining for 2020 (Attachment A).
No organizations submitted applications for the 2020 Fourth Quarter CCGP. Due to community needs during the pandemic, staff recommends the allocation of unspent 2020 CCGP funds to the 2021 PSMRGP recipients as follows:
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends that Council approve the allocation of the unspent CCGP budget to the applicants of the 2021 PSMRGP as noted above.
