Resolution of the Town Council of Castle Rock Stating Its Opposition to Colorado Proposition 113 and the Adoption of the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact

Executive Summary

 

At the last Town Council meeting, Council directed staff to examine the issue of the pending State vote on the issue of the National Popular Vote and provide a resolution in opposition, if Council desired to proceed to vote on such resolution. This issue will be before Colorado voters on
November 3.

 

Attached is the Colorado Bluebook materials on this subject (Attachment B), including the actual text on this issue. Additionally, Don Wilson, Monument Mayor, who has been involved in this issue has provided the attached resolution (Attachment C) that the Town used in developing the resolution on the Council agenda. Opponents to the National Popular Vote have provided the webpage for the Protect Colorado’s Vote effort that shows the Counties and Municipalities that have signed on in support of the effort with Resolutions. <https://protectcoloradosvote.org/endorsements/>
