Discussion/Direction of the Introduction to the Proposed 2021 Budget

Executive Summary
On behalf of Town staff, we are pleased to submit the Town’s Proposed 2021 Budget to Town Council and the community.
An overview of the proposed budget is being presented at the August 18, 2020 Town Council meeting. No Town Council action is required at this time.
The Proposed 2021 Budget is scheduled for first reading at the September 1, 2020 Town Council meeting with second and final reading at the September 15, 2020 Town Council meeting. Public hearings/public input on the proposed budget will be conducted at both meetings. Additionally, public input on the Town budget was received at a virtual Budget Open House on July 16, 2020.
Attached to this memo is the 2021 Budget Message, which provides an explanation and summary of the proposed budget and major issues, along with the slides planned for use in the presentation. Greater proposed budget information can be found in the attached 2021 Budget in Brief, 2021 to 2025 Balanced Financial Plan and Capital Improvement Program.
The complete Proposed 2021 Budget will be available on the Town’s website prior to the September 1, 2020, meeting at CRgov.com/2021Budget.
