Title

Relocation of Dancing Moon IV

Body

________________________________________________________________________________

Executive Summary

In February, the Commission began to discuss relocation options for Dancing Moon IV. The sculpture needs to be relocated due to roundabout construction at East Plum Creek Parkway and South Gilbert Street.

The group narrowed location options down to two sites -Rhyolite Regional Park and along the East Plum Creek Trail near the Meadows Parkway trailhead. Staff Liaison Maia noted she would gather some usage data and collect additional photos over the next month so the Commission could make a more informed decision at their March meeting.

In addition, due to damage, a replacement glass disc for Town-owned sculpture Dancing Moon IV Disc was recently created by artist Reven Swanson. Reven plans to schedule a time to install the disc and perform restoration work on the rest of the piece once the weather improves and after the sculpture is moved to its new location.

Staff Recommendation

Staff recommend the Commission discuss and select a new location for Dancing Moon IV.

Recommended Motion
