The high growth nature of Castle Rock results in numerous and diverse questions from individuals seeking information about existing conditions and future plans. All community development activity information is located on the Town website under the Development Activity link and In Your Backyard interactive map.

 

1.                     Quasi-Judicial Applications Requiring Public Hearings:

None

 

2.                     General Inquiries in the Town or within the County:

Douglas County Non-Residential Replat

 

Staff received a land application referral from Douglas County for a proposed 77-acre subdivision to establish four non-residential lots. The proposal is located on the west side of Ridge Road across the road from King Soopers.

 

895 Ridge Road Annexation

 

 

The proposed development plan, located on Ridge Road southwest of King Soopers, includes 2-3 assisted living buildings with 16-40 units per building and 14 office condo buildings, while keeping an existing single family home served by well and septic. The proposal requires annexation and zoning prior to development. If annexed, the project will be located in Councilmember Teal’s District.

 

Pizza Hut

 

 

The proposed redevelop plan splits the Pizza Hut property in two phases. Phase one includes a 1,600 sq. ft. tenant space for Pizza Hut delivery or pick-up, and the second phase moves Pizza Hut into a new 4,300 sq. ft. retail strip center. The proposal is located in Mayor Pro Tem Bower’s District.

Colorado Early Colleges

 

 

Colorado Early Colleges proposes conversion of an existing 35,800 sq. ft. elementary school into a high school, located at the southeast corner of Distant Rock Avenue and Low Meadow Boulevard. The proposal is located in Councilmember Bracken’s District.

 

Lost Canyon Archery and Resort

 

 

The proposed annexation and zoning plan is for Lost Canyon Archery and Resort. The Lost Canyon property includes approximately 700 acres and the proposal is to subdivide and annex a 35-acre tract on the west side of the property adjacent to Lost Canyon Ranch Road, with access proposed through Ranch Road. The remaining acreage stays in the County. The proposal includes a 15,000 sq. ft. archery resort and spa, small restaurant, and bow shop. If annexed, the project will be located in Councilmember Johnson’s District.

o                     La Loma Restaurant, site and building construction, located southwest of Promenade Parkway and Castle Rock Parkway, proposed opening in late summer / fall 2020.

o                     Panda Express, site and building construction, located west of Sam’s Club on the east corner of Promenade Parkway and Factory Shops Blvd. intersection.

o                     Retail building, site and building construction, located west of Sam’s Club on the east corner of Promenade Parkway and Factory Shops Blvd. intersection.

o                     Sleep Number, site plan review for a 4,000 sq. ft. building located on east side of Promenade Parkway, just south of Verizon building.

o                     Whole Foods, interior finish, located southeast of Promenade Parkway and Castle Rock Parkway, proposed opening in April 2020.

o                     Town Center:

§                     Two 10,000 sq. ft. retail/restaurant buildings, site plan review, located at the west corner of Meadows Parkway and Meadows Boulevard.

§                     Mixed-use, a 17,000 sq. ft. building and site construction located on Ambrosia Street.

§                     Mixed-use, building and site construction for a restaurant and 111 multi-family residential units in a four-story building located at the northeast corner of Bilberry Street and Mercantile Street.

§                     Park area site plan, located between Viridian and Saffron Streets.

§                     Ubergrippen, site and construction plans for 18,000 sq. ft. indoor climbing wall facility, located on Bilberry Street south of Mercantile Street including a trail connection to the tunnel under Meadows Boulevard.

o                     Bridge and access road, construction documents, connection of the roundabout on North Meadows parkway south and then east crossing Plum Creek.

o                     Castle View High School addition, site plan review, located at North Meadows Drive and Butterfield Crossing Drive.

o                     IREA Substation, construction documents, located east of Castle View High School and ACC Collaboration Campus.

o                     Jiffy Lube, site and building construction, located north of Meadows Parkway and Lombard Street intersection.

o                     North Meadows Parkway, roundabout construction for future intersection located north of Castle View High School between the two bridges, providing access to the future commercial-office-industrial parcels on each side of North Meadows Pkwy.

o                     Castle Rock Industrial Park, site and building construction, office, warehouse, and flex space located at the northwest intersection of State Highway 85 and Liggett Road.

o                     Convenience Store and retail space, site plan review, 7,200 sq. ft. building and Fuel Island located at the southeast corner of Plum Creek Parkway and Lake Gulch Road, adjacent to the planned Town roundabout.

o                     Dutch Brothers Coffee, site plan amendment, located in previous Good Times building at 248 Metzler Drive.
