Executive Summary
Staff would like to update the Commission regarding the following items.
Paint-by-number Dedication
A dedication event was held at Castle Rock Adventist hospital on Thursday, Jan. 30. Staff is very appreciative of everyone’s time and assistance with the event.
Castle Rock History in Watercolor
The Castle Rock Museum has invited members of the Public Art Commission to attend an opening reception for a new exhibit - Castle Rock History in Watercolor, featuring the paintings of Cindy Welch. The reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Castle Rock Museum Watercolor
The print of the watercolor museum painting was moved to a more prominent location by Senior Center staff (Attachment A).
Festival Park Tree Stump Carving
Castle Rock Artist Cooperative member, Bill LaFleur, has completed his carving of the tree stump at Festival Park (Attachment B). The Downtown Alliance is considering hosting a dedication event to celebrate its completion, along with the completion of the mural. Details will be announced when available.
Denver Art Call
Denver is calling for local, national and international artists for three projects within a $900,000 budget. The call will close on March 9.
