I-25 PEL Letter of Support to CDOT

Executive Summary
The purpose of this item is to gain Town Council approval on the updated I-25 PEL Letter of Support (Attachment A). This item was originally reviewed by Town Council in October of this year. At that meeting there were two additions that were proposed to be included: 1) Eliminate the proposed toll lane at the Town’s most southern interchange (existing or future), and 2) Add an additional General Purpose lane to E470. The motion to approve included the first proposal, but was silent on the second. Town staff circulated this updated letter to Town Council to include the first proposed adjustment. The majority of Town Council members that responded stated that the updated letter looked good. One member stated that the second proposed addition should also be added. In order to ensure that this letter has the full Town Council support we feel it is important to bring this updated letter back to Town Council for action.
The updated letter (Attachment A) includes both of the proposed adjustments. A page from the PEL Executive Summary that shows the conceptual future lanes to be added is also included for reference (Attachment B).
