Executive Summary
Commission member Susan Paulsen has requested that the Public Art Commission consider a grant application opportunity, offered through Bloomberg Philanthropies, called the Asphalt Art Initiative. The grant program is designed to fund visual art interventions on roadways, pedestrian spaces and public infrastructure in small- and medium-sized U.S. cities with populations of 30,000-500,000. The program will award 10 cities grants of up to $25,000. While the Town tentatively meets the initial requirements outlined in the program, the application deadline is December 12, 2019.
