Executive Summary

This item is requesting Town Council action to appoint a member, or members, to the Transit Feasibility Study Focus Group.  The purpose of the Focus Group is to provide high-level input to the project team to assist with shaping the study.  The ultimate approval of the final study will reside with Town Council.  The overall goal of this study is to provide the Town with an understanding of realistic transit options for consideration of integrating into our multi-modal transportation network.  This final approval is projected for the third quarter of 2020.

Meeting times and dates for the Focus Group will be finalized once the full team is assembled.  Notification of Focus Group meetings will be provided to the general public using the Town’s website.  Should Council approve a certain number of members to the group that requires stricter public noticing requirements, the team will publish accordingly.

To maximize efficiency of this group we recommend that one Town Council member be selected as the primary member, and one Town Council member be selected as an alternate.  However, the project team will welcome any preferred preferences of the Council.
