Executive Summary
Staff would like to update the Commission regarding the following items.
Commission Vacancy
Due to an upcoming deployment and inability to attend future Art Commission meetings, Andre Fleuette effectively resigned from the Commission. Staff Liaison Maia Aman and Chair Steve Maruska have scheduled two interviews for the afternoon of Thursday, October 10. Pending the interviews and Council approval, staff hope to fill the vacancy with an official appointment on Tuesday, October 15.
Castle Rock Museum Painting and Print
In July, the Commission motioned to approve the purchase of a frame and mat for the print of the watercolor painting of the Castle Rock Museum. This commissioned painting was donated to the Castle Rock Museum through a Public Art Commission and Historic Preservation Board partnership in May. In August, the Commission selected a frame and mat color, which was presented at the September meeting. Now, the Commission wishes to discuss location options for permanent installation.
