Executive Summary
In August, local watercolor artist Cindy Welch attended the Public Art Commission meeting to present two of her paintings for the Commission’s consideration of purchase - a painting of the Rock and a painting of Castle Rock Fire and Rescue Station 151. If purchased individually, the price of both paintings would cost $2,000-2,500. Cindy is, however, willing to reduce the price if the pieces are purchased together. Cindy also noted that if the painting of the fire station was purchased to place at Station 151, then should would also donate 10 percent of the proceeds from print sales to Castle Rock Fire and Rescue.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommend that the Commission discuss the potential purchase of one or both of Cindy’s paintings and provide direction as necessary.
