2019-2020 Douglas County Art Encounters Program Update

At the April and May meetings, the Commission discussed the placement of the 2019-2020 Art Encounters pieces. Based on provided direction, staff have since installed the following pieces accordingly:
• TWL #1 - Town Hall
• Miss Poppin’s Favorite - Festival Park
• Against the Wind - Miller Activity Complex
• Hot Wheels Percival Landing - Castle Rock Museum
• Monumental - Mitchell Gulch Park
Staff at Douglas County have been preparing this year’s program brochure (a draft can be referenced in Attachment A), as well as plaques.
A press release is scheduled to be issued next week (an example of a press release from a previous year can be referenced in Attachment B). In between now and the time the release is issued, Maia will work to post updated program details to the Town’s website. At this point in time, staff would love any additional direction related to marketing this year’s program, including feedback on the sample press release or social media outreach.
