Executive Summary

This memorandum provides a brief summary of key findings from the 2019 Community Survey related to Castle Rock Water. For data on other Town services, refer to the full survey which will be available on the Town’s website.

From the survey, it is clear residents believe water is a top priority for the community. The perception of the community is that the quality of water has declined since 2017. This is likely due to changes in the aesthetics of our water resulting from changes in mineral content due to new and different mix of sources that changes seasonally. Staff has already taken steps to address this perception issue. All of the attributes have a significant impact on how the community is viewed overall. Value for the rates and fees is the lowest rated factor, which is not surprising. This will continue to be an area of focus for staff. Future ability to provide water and water infrastructure to keep up with the current growth is clearly a concern for residents.

One other key finding from the survey is that there is some interest in having Castle Rock Water pursue advanced metering infrastructure.

All of the other related questions are provided as Attachment A.
