Discussion/Direction: Placement of 2019-2020 Art Encounters Pieces

Executive Summary
At the April meeting, the Commission discussed the placement of the 2019-2020 Art Encounters pieces and suggested the following locations:
• TWL #1 - Place at Town Hall, but confirm with artist that installation can be achieved at location
• Miss Poppin’s Favorite - Place at the Miller Activity Complex
• Against the Wind - Place at Festival Park
• Hot Wheels Percival Landing - Place at the Castle Rock Museum pending approval
• Monumental - Mitchell Gulch Park
Staff has since worked to confirm logistics and placement with Parks and Recreation staff and others and now have the following recommendations for the Commission to consider:
• TWL #1 - Place at Town Hall, the artist did confirm that installation can be achieved at this location
• Miss Poppin’s Favorite - Place at Festival Park; Parks and Recreation staff believes the whimsical nature of the piece will be better reflected at Festival Park than at the Miller Activity Complex
• Against the Wind - Place at the Miller Activity Complex
• Hot Wheels Percival Landing - Place at the Castle Rock Museum; the museum identified a location (Attachment A) and approved to host the piece
• Monumental - Mitchell Gulch Park
The selected pieces can be referenced in Attachment B.
Staff recommendation
Staff recommend that the Commission now discuss and finalize the placement of the selected pieces for the program’s 2019-2020 season.
