Executive Summary
The purpose and intent of this report is to provide Town Council with a summary of quasi-judicial projects. In order to provide all parties with due process under law, decision makers must be fair and impartial when considering quasi-judicial applications such as those attached to this memorandum (Attachment A).
Many of the attached projects do not have public hearing dates yet, but Town Council could be asked to consider them in the future. The Town’s Development Activity map provides information on staff-reviewed applications and applications already approved by Town Council. Those applications can be found at: CRgov.com/ <http://www.crgov.com/inyourbackyard>developmentactivity.
New Applications
216-224 N. Wilcox Street Commercial Façade Improvements - The property owner, David Nord, has proposed facade improvements to the building located at 216-224 N. Wilcox. The façade improvements require the Design Review Board to review and render a decision. The project is located within Councilman Bower’s district.
85 Rio Grande Drive Commercial Façade Improvements - The property owner, Mike Moroni of Mirage Dental, is proposing a new canopy at the Mirage Dental building. The façade improvements require the Design Review Board to review and render a decision. The project is located with Councilman Bower’s district.
501 N. Wilcox Street Commercial Façade Improvements - The property owner, Independent Bank, is requesting approval of facade and landscape improvements to the building and property located at 501 N. Wilcox Street. The requested changes require the Design Review Board to review and render a decision. The project is located within Councilman Bower’s district.
Encore (Festival Park Commons) Right of Way (ROW) Vacation - The property owner has submitted a request to vacate public rights-of-way that include portions of an existing alley, and portions of Perry Street and South Street to accommodate the redevelopment of the Encore site. Right-of-Way Vacations require Town Council approval. The request is located within Councilman Bower’s district.
Meadows Town Center Mixed Use Site Development Plan - The applicant, Josh Desmond-Garrett Companies, has submitted a Site Development Plan application for a 155,000 square foot, four-story mixed use building to include a 4,000 square foot restaurant located in the Town Center of the Meadows Development. This project will require a public hearing, review by the Town Council, and is located within Councilman Bracken’s district.
Oakwood Apartments Site Development Plan - The applicant, Douglas County Housing Authority, has submitted a Site Development Plan for a proposed new three-story building within the center of their existing facility that will contain 53 apartment units, a leasing center, and a new community center. This project will require Town Council review and approval. The project is located within Councilman Bower’s district.
