Executive Summary
On February 27, Vice Chair Joyce Volp and Staff Liaison Maia Aman attended the Douglas County Art Encounters’ round robin to select pieces for Castle Rock for the 2019-2020 season.
For over a decade, the Town has participated in Art Encounters, which provides rotating art exhibits to the residents of Douglas County in various media and styles. Displayed in highly visible areas in Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker and Roxborough, new art pieces are installed each year to promote public interest in art, develop community pride, foster community character and draw visitors to retail and civic areas.
The following pieces were selected as a result of the process and can also be referenced in Attachment A:

• Monumental
• Red Disc
Staff recommendation
Staff recommend that the Commission now discuss and provide feedback related to the placement of the selected pieces for the program’s 2019-2020 season.
