Staff would like to update the Commission regarding the following items.
Philip S. Miller Park Art Project
On Jan. 22, Town Council approved the selection of artists Mary Williams and John King for the Philip S. Miller Park art project and authorized staff to finalize/execute a contract for their services. Since then, staff has worked to finalize contract details and received artist signatures. Once the contract is fully executed, the artists will put together working drawings to finalize the project’s design.
Art Frame
POST Partners Volunteer Coordinator, Marcy Jones, contacted Douglas County High School to inquire as to whether or not an art class may consider updating the Art Frame located near the Recreation Center as a project. Art teacher, Brooke Speegle, is considering the project and working with students on potential design options. Marcy is hoping the students will be able to complete the project this semester, but completion will be contingent on students’ ability to finalize, seek approval for and execute a design.
