Executive Summary
With Reuse water right around the counter, we increased our outreach messaging by having a booth at Starlighting. The intent of the booth was to reach a large, broad, group of residents. We displayed several posters about why Castle Rock is going to reuse supply and the proposed treatment processes. Additionally, we had two beakers of water - one with treated wastewater and the other with creek water. Residents were amazed at how clean the treated wastewater was. We also provided a craft and handed out pencils to draw in more people. We spoke directly with an estimated 50-75 people while hundreds saw the message and took pencils. For additional awareness and to invite residents to the booth, we sent out an email and created a Facebook post about the booth at Starlighting and our reuse message. We were met with favorable reactions.
