Resolution Confirming the Appointment of a Fire Chief for the Town of Castle Rock

Executive Summary
I am very pleased to recommend for Town Council ratification the appointment of Norris Croom as Fire Chief. Norris has over 30 years of service in all of the aspects of our department, as well as extensive service at the state, regional and national level, numerous awards, published works, and community involvement.
In a nationwide search, the Town received over 100 applications, many of a high caliber in the profession. Interviews were conducted with five very well qualified candidates on September 6. We also had a well-attended public open house on September 5.
All candidates performed well, and the comments strongly reflected support for Norris as Fire Chief. Everyone’s work in implementing a focused, successful recruitment process is much appreciated.
Per Town Code, a Resolution confirming this appointment is placed under the Consent Calendar for Town Council approval.
