Executive Summary
Following the annual Board and Commissions recruitment period in April 2018, and ratification of the recommended appointments in May, the Board of Adjustment and Castle Rock Water Commission each retained one vacancy. Advertising was posted again during the month of June and three applications were received to the Board of Adjustment. All three candidates were interviewed by the Board of Adjustment Chair Linda Baumann and staff liaison Tammy King on July 10, 2018, and their recommendation is supported by the Director of Development Services, Bill Detweiler.
Two applications were received for the vacancy on the Castle Rock Water Commission. Both candidates were scheduled to be interviewed on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, beginning at 5:00 p.m. immediately prior to the Town Council meeting, by the Water Commission Chair Clark Hammelman, Castle Rock Water Director Mark Marlowe, and Councilman Townsend.
The Downtown Development Authority Board Interview Subcommittee recommends that Town Council re-appoint Dennis Dickey and Mike Trede to fill the two vacancies on the DDA Board. These vacancies were publicly noticed, posted on the DDA website and announced at the DDA Board meeting in June.
Recommendation
The Board of Adjustment and staff liaisons recommend the appointment of Talena Jensen to the Board of Adjustment, with a term ending on May 31, 2019.
The Castle Rock Water Commission recommends the appointment of Katherine Redmond, with a term ending May 31, 2020.
The Downtown Development Authority Board Interview Subcommittee recommends the reappointment of Dennis Dickey and Mike Trede to the Downtown Development Authority Board.
