Executive Summary
The purpose and intent of this memorandum is to provide a recommendation to appoint Dan Ahrwens to serve on the Planning Commission. In May 2017, interviews were conducted by Town Council liaison James Townsend, Commissioner Vickie Sikes, and Kevin Wrede, Planning Manager. The interview panel interviewed 18 prospective members and ranked 6 of them as potential Commission members. Town Council appointed 3 to the Planning Commission that began their terms in June 2017. The Planning Commission has recently accepted the resignation of Commissioner Vickie Sikes and, thus, this letter is recommending Dan Ahrwens to fill the spot vacated by Mrs. Sikes. The interview panel found that Mr. Ahrwen’s background and experience as a member of the Town’s Water Commission, and his keen interest in the Town of Castle Rock, would make Mr. Ahrwens a valuable member of the Planning Commission.
Proposed Motion
I move to appoint Dan Ahrwens to the Planning Commission to fill the term ending on May 31, 2018.
