Update: Planned Public Outreach Events
Body
________________________________________________________________________________
Executive Summary
Staff has begun sketching out what this year’s Council outreach events could look like, focused at this time on the fall. The purpose of this memo is to outline these potential plans for Council at a high level.
State of the Town
Staff is recommending that this year’s State of the Town event be held on the evening of Thursday, Sept. 30. The current vision is for the event to be similar to last year’s iteration, which was held at Cantril School. The entire community will be invited to attend. Further details about the 2025 State of the Town will be shared as planning develops.
Councilmember open houses
In recent years, staff has collaborated with Councilmembers to host a series of open houses in Council districts throughout Town. These events generally are well-attended, with dozens of community members coming out to visit with their Council representatives and Town staff to discuss issues of interest.
Staff suggests holding this year’s Councilmember open houses in August through October, from 4 to 6 p.m., as has been done in recent years. Some of these dates do have other Town meetings and events scheduled, as noted. Councilmembers should let staff know as soon as possible which of these dates works best for their district’s event. (Note: Districts 1 and 3 have historically held their events together.)
