Resolution: Ratifying and Approving the Recommendation of the Town Manager for the Director of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Castle Rock

Executive Summary
I am very pleased to recommend for Town Council ratification, the appointment of Jeff Brauer as the Town’s new Director of Parks and Recreation.
Prior to coming to Castle Rock, Jeff worked for El Paso County Parks as the Project Manager and was hired in 2004 as the Construction Manager for the Town of Castle Rock Parks and Recreation department. Jeff was promoted to Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation in 2006; and has been instrumental in creating numerous parks, trails and open space, including the new Philip S. Miller Park and the Miller Activity Complex.
Jeff was appointed as the interim Director of Parks and Recreation for the Town of Castle Rock in July, 2015 after the prior Director accepted a position as the Executive Director of South Suburban Parks and Recreation. A national search for the Director position was conducted, and we received numerous qualified applications indicating the strength of our award-winning department and the desirability of Castle Rock. Through the interview process, Jeff stood out as the best qualified candidate and was the clear choice for our community demonstrating his energy, enthusiasm for the Parks and Recreation work, professionalism, and desire to take Castle Rock Parks and Recreation to even higher achievements.
We are confident that Jeff will be an outstanding Parks and Recreation Director and member of the Town’s leadership team; and on behalf of the Town staff, we all look forward to working with Jeff.
