Discussion
The Youth Commission will discuss hosting a Project Linus community volunteer event on December 3rd. Project Linus is a nonprofit organization that provides handmade blankets to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. Through the generosity of volunteers and Castle Rock youth, each blanket is made with care and serves as a reminder that these children are not alone and that there are people in their community who love and support them. With support and involvement of Castle Rock youth, Project Linus brings people together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children in need. By donating their time, creativity, and compassion, young volunteers help create blankets that provide more than just physical warmth- they offer hope, encouragement, and emotional support. This Youth Commission project would directly benefit kids in Douglas County. Commissioner Agan has reserved a space to complete the project at Colorado Early Colleges (3565 Celestial Avenue) in Castle Rock.
