Appointments to the Design Review Board, Election Commission and Downtown Development Authority [updated June 14, 2020]

Executive Summary
Interviews with residents who applied to serve on Town Boards and Commissions were held remotely May 11-13, 2020 and recommended appointments were ratified on May 19. The Election Commission retained one vacancy for a partial term ending on May 31, 2021 and received an application after the annual interviews were held. An interview was conducted by the Election Commission on June 10, 2020.
The Election Commission voted unanimously to recommend the appointment of Sharon Kinnard to the Election Commission to fill a vacancy for a one-year term ending on May 31, 2021.
The Design Review Board is comprised of two Downtown property owners; two representatives each from the Downtown Development Authority and Historic Preservation Board, and one representative from the Planning Commission, voted in each year after the ratification of new members to those boards/commissions.
Based on unanimous vote by the Historic Preservation Board, the following appointments to the Design Review Board are recommended as Historic Preservation Board Representatives:
• David Goode (reappointment)
• Steve Crosier
Based on unanimous vote by the Downtown Development Authority, the following appointments to the Design Review Board are recommended as DDA Representatives:
• Stuart Butler (reappointment)
• Nick Hier (reappointment)
[added 06/12/2020] And, based on recommendation by the Planning Commission on June 11, the following appointment to the Design Review Board is recommended as Planning Commission Representative:
• Jeremy Begley
[added 06/14/2020] During the most recent Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board meeting, the DDA made a motion to recommend that Town Council appoint Kim Heideman, Owner of the Union American Bistro (property and business), to the DDA Board.
A subcommittee of two DDA Board Members interviewed five candidates, and made a recommendation to the DDA Board, who is now making a recommendation to Town Council.
