Executive Summary

 

The Police Department has implemented a safe zone for online transactions designed to help protect our citizens. As online transactions become more popular, robberies, thefts and scams are also more prevalent. Citizens are encouraged to use the public areas of the Police facility, which are well lit and monitored by cameras, as a place to meet and conduct their transactions. These areas consist of the police department lobby, which is available during the business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the department’s vestibule, which may be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

The Police Department intends to increase safe zone awareness for our Castle Rock residents and business owners. Community Relations will publicize the Safe Transaction Zone utilizing social media and a news release. The full informational announcement (Attachment A) has been placed on our Town’s Police webpages and may be found under the Resources tab.
