Resolution of the Town of Castle Rock Town Council Authorizing Signatories for the Town’s Account at SouthState Bank

Discussion
The Town maintains a separate, non-interest-bearing checking account at SouthState Bank for Municipal Court bond refunds. When a defendant posts bond and subsequently appears in court, the Town is required to promptly return the defendant’s funds. To ensure timely payment, Municipal Court staff are authorized signatories on the SouthState account.
Due to an upcoming retirement and prior personnel changes, updates to the authorized signers on this account are necessary. SouthState Bank requires formal documentation - such as meeting minutes or a resolution - to process changes to account signatories. (This process was not required in the past, when this was Independent Bank and Castle Rock Bank.)
Accordingly, staff requests approval of the attached resolution to:
• Remove a retiring Municipal Court staff member as a signatory
• Remove a former Finance Department staff member as a signatory
• Add two current Municipal Court team members as authorized signatories on the account
