Executive Summary
The Board of Adjustment recently received the resignation of Chuck Kocher, as he accepted an appointment to the Castle Rock Water Commission. The Board currently has two vacancies, advertised on the Town website and in the Castle Rock News-Press. One applicant was interviewed on January 27, 2026; The panel is unanimously recommending the appointment of Nicholas Moore, for a partial term ending May 31, 2027.
The Board of Adjustment is responsible for hearing and deciding on requests for variances from the strict enforcement of the Town's zoning and sign codes, including requests for accommodations for persons with disabilities. Additionally, the board is responsible for hearing appeals of any decision or determination made by an administrative official. Decisions of the Board of Adjustment are final, subject to judicial review.
