Executive Summary
The purpose of this agenda item is for members and staff to provide updates on the strategic initiatives identified in the public art plan for the following thematic goals: the beautification of public spaces, community engagement, conservation and maintenance, creating an arts destination, making art part of the conversation and public/private funding.
November updates include:
• Update on the Holiday Card Art Contest and card design.
• Reviewing a list of art grant opportunities compiled by member Katie Klossner.
• Brainstorming the grant types and discussing general processes and procedures for the Town’s official grant program for art and cultural opportunities; the program will be launched in 2025 and administered through the Public Art Commission.
• Updates from the Art Encounters Public Advisory Committee Meeting, including changes on the program’s stipend amounts, awards, and other ideas discussed.
• Update on planned conservation and maintenance of Tree of Wings.
