Industrial Tributary Trail Project Update

Executive Summary
The Industrial Tributary Trail is a planned east-west trail connection that will link Downtown Castle Rock with Philip S. Miller Park, the Castle Rock Sports Center and neighborhoods west of Interstate 25. The project has been identified as a priority in the Town’s parks, recreation and trails planning efforts for more than 20 years.
Portions of the trail are being completed in coordination with the Miller’s Landing and Brickyard developments. The remaining improvements include a pedestrian underpass beneath Prairie Hawk Drive and a connection through the existing railroad arch, across East Plum Creek and to the East Plum Creek Trail near Festival Park.
On Oct. 20, Town Council is scheduled to consider agreements with CD-ACME, LLC and BNSF Railway Company related to construction, cost participation, railroad coordination and future maintenance responsibilities for portions of the project.
Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation Jeff Smullen will provide an overview of the project, an update regarding Council’s consideration of the agreements and information about anticipated next steps.
