The Douglas County Youth Initiative (DCYI) is proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Outstanding Youth Awards.
Each year, DCYI honors exceptional young people who have overcome personal adversity and created positive change in their lives. These awards recognize teenagers ages 13-19 who have triumphed over great odds and now serve as inspirations and role models within our community.
If you know a deserving young person, please consider submitting a nomination - and share this opportunity with others who may know an outstanding youth.
The nomination deadline is April 3, 2026 and you can submit your nomination at <https://tinyurl.com/hka33486>.
There will be a special reception to honor award recipients and their nominators and will be hosted by Douglas County’s elected officials. Dessert will be served!
• Nominators may share why they nominated their student
• Award recipients may speak, if they wish
• Gifts of appreciation, including a cash award, will be presented
