Title
Proposed Donation of Lost Canyon Ranch Diorama for Town Hall Display
Body
________________________________________________________________________________
Executive Summary
The Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation would like to donate a student-created diorama to the Town of Castle Rock for installation at Town Hall to commemorate the Lost Canyon Ranch Open Space acquisition. The proposed display would recognize both the significance of the property and the educational collaboration behind the project.
The diorama is a three-dimensional topographic map of Lost Canyon Ranch created by high school student Phoebe Kimbrell at Renaissance Secondary School under the guidance of teacher and Parks and Trails Foundation board member Zach Deegan. The model was produced using 3D printing technology and enhanced landscaping materials and paint to reflect the terrain and natural features of the open space.
The students and their teacher presented the completed project to the Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation Board of Directors, who expressed interest in donating the piece to the Town for public display as an educational and commemorative feature.
