Executive Summary
To promote the value of public art and encourage community engagement, a Public Art Survey was launched in October, which is National Arts and Humanities Month.
On November 10, Jen Perry provided the update that a total of 111 responses had been received with an 81% completion rate. Jen will provide more up-to-date numbers at the meeting, but promotional actions to date have included:
- Issuing a press release, which goes to news channels, subscribers and all Town employees
- Partner groups such as the Downtown Alliance, the Castle Rock Artist Cooperative and the Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation have shared the survey through their social media channels and networks
- Commission members reached out to their personal networks
- The Town’s social media accounts have featured multiple posts and stories
- The survey was featured in Town Talk, the monthly Castle Rock Water bill
Staff now recommend that members consider additional promotional outlets or incentives, if deemed appropriate, and provide future direction.
