Title
Resolution Designating the Public Place for Posting Notices Pursuant to C.R.S. Section 24-6-402(2)(c)
Body
________________________________________________________________________________
Executive Summary
Effective August 2, 2019 State House Bill 19-1087 requires local governments transition from posting physical notices of public meetings in physical locations to posting notices on a website, social media account or other official online presence of the local government to the greatest extent practicable.
This notice must have specific agenda information and posted no less than twenty-four hours prior to the meeting. A public place must also be designated to post notice in the event of an outage.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends designating the Town website www.crgov.com as the official place for posting notices.
The Town currently publishes notices on the Town website for all meetings of Town Council, Boards and Commissions, and Special Districts. Public meetings and events are also displayed on the electronic board at the public entrance to Townhall, and posted on the Town Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms. These practices are consistent with a voter approved Charter Amendment in 2015 that designated the Town website to publish notices for proposed and adopted Ordinances.
Proposed Motion
“I move to approve the Resolution as introduced by title.”
