Cantril School Grounds Master Planning Update and Site Walk

Executive Summary
The Town of Castle Rock Parks and Recreation Department recently issued a request for proposals seeking professional landscape architecture, design, planning and public engagement services to develop a master plan and schematic design for the grounds and park area around Cantril School.
The planning process will consider phased exterior improvements, including outdoor gathering and event spaces, landscaping, accessibility, parking, drainage, an art- and sculpture-inspired playground and opportunities to showcase public art. The master plan will also consider the site’s historic character, community programming needs and future implementation phases.
Park Planner Manager Matt Roth will provide a brief overview of the project and request for proposals. The update is anticipated to include a brief walk around the school grounds to provide additional site context.
No Commission action is requested.
