Executive Summary
At this meeting, the Commission will review and discuss progress on several ongoing items and upcoming priorities. These include:
• Commission Vacancy: Staff is continuing to work on filling the vacancy created by Sam Colston’s resignation. Commissioners are encouraged to share the opportunity with interested community members.
• Board and Commission Appreciation Dinner: A reminder that the annual appreciation dinner is scheduled for Monday, October 20th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Oaks at Plum Creek.
• The Commission will review the donation for the Douglas County School District to support the purchase of a lens for their advanced photography class. The teacher has confirmed the students have nearly finished photographing the collection.
• Holiday Card Art Contest: The Commission will review the submitted artwork and select a finalist for this year’s holiday card design.
• Encore Parking Garage Banner Artwork Call: The Commission will also review a draft call for artwork for banners to be displayed on the Encore Parking Garage as part of the Town’s 150/250 Sesquicentennial Celebration throughout 2026.
Staff recommends that the Commission review the above items and provide any input, feedback, or action needed to advance these ongoing goals and upcoming initiatives.
