Executive Summary
There will be a regular municipal election of the Mayor and Town Councilmembers for Districts 3 and 5 on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Town Council has directed that the 2026 Regular Municipal Election be conducted by the Douglas County Clerk and Recorder as authorized by Section 2.01.130 of the Town Municipal Code. The Town is advised to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement. The County requests that the IGA be signed and returned ninety (90) days before the election (August 4).
Budget Impact
Staff estimates election costs of $70,000 at the County’s rate of $1 per voter and shared publication costs.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends approval of the Resolution and Intergovernmental Agreement.
